They only get mad at animation when they can take screenshots of and pretend a goofy-looking in-between frame is the same as an artist phoning it in. Art was bad. It made pain and naruto look goofy af. But the animation was clean.
He was already one of the most powerful Shinobi ever at 14! Minato straight up told Naruto that, that Obito was even more powerful than Pain, Naruto needed extra-ordinary power just to even stand a chance of beating him.
